We received this feedback (June 2014) about our paint from a Wellington fan: The primer is white, and this will increase the perceived glow as well, as white reflects light it will be up to twice as bright as a black background. You may wish to choose a more suitable primer for other surfaces. The primer we sell is a high quality multipurpose waterbased white primer suitable for wood and concrete. The undercoat primer is probably the most important, this will definitely make the paint last much longer. But it will make the glow paint underneath last much longer outdoors. The topcoat will reduce the glow slightly as it does have a few UV inhibitors, not many but a few, and it is another layer to go through. Up to you and what effect you are looking for. What painting accessories should I buy? White undercoat primer? Top Coat? But this does depend on wear and tear, whether it is a wet area/mossy. Ideally the result will last well over a year, possibly years. The cleaner and drier the area to start with the longer lasting the results, waterblasting, scrubbing, bleach etc whatever suits your area. And maybe just the sides and around a bit for going down.Ī good quality brush, a poor quality brush will give a streaky result.Įxtremely hard to spray or roll on, special equipment is required. Rather, doing the top edge of the vertical face of the step will help going up the stairs. We don't recommend painting it where feet will go. The paint dries to a enamel like finish, so can be slippery especially when wet. ![]() Our scales are certified, calibrated and registered with the weights and measurement department in New Zealand.Ĭan I paint my concrete pavers or stairs with it? Because it is a thick paint, sometimes bubbles can be trapped and may distort the volume - but will not distort the weight. Our paint is in grams to comply with the weights and measure act. Don't do one thick coat thinking your saving time, the coating will be far less durable and prone to peeling over time. On average we recommend 2 glow coats for a good glow. So you'll need twice as much as ordinary paint. ![]() The glow powder is actually small crystals and have the consistency of fine sand. Our paint is quite thick to hold the glow powder, and a high build paint.
